Every little girl dreams. She dreams big and she dreams small, she dreams during the day and into the night, and of course, all the time in between. She dreams of adventures and magic, of beauty and love, and at the end of each story is a happy ending. Every little girl grows up chasing her wildest dreams and happily-ever-afters, and for some, that includes a Prince Charming riding in on his white horse on the last pages of an epic romance. You see, every little girl wants a prince, and in her dreams, every prince wants a princess.
I used to play pretend and go anywhere in the world I wanted to go. I was anyone I chose to be. A warrior princess or a dragon tamer, a woodland fairy or a top secret spy. My adventures were infinite. I traveled to a different world every day after school on a flying horse, and with the click of my heels I was back home for supper. My aspirations were to have a best friend, a pretty dress, and a cute pair of shoes.
Now I don’t play so much make-believe anymore, because I can actually go anywhere I want. I can choose to be anyone I want to be, and it’s an endless adventure. Every step of my journey

takes me one step closer to my happily-ever-after. I now know the worth of climbing my own mountain, and I’m grateful for the lesson that “wishing on a star” doesn’t actually work. There is a sense-of-accomplishment and dreamlike joy in knowing that I deserve this happy ending. I still aspire to have a best friend, a pretty dress, and a cute pair of shoes.
As a wedding photographer, it’s my job to be the Fairy Godmother, sprinkle stardust, and help make the dreams of would-be-princesses come true. They have visions of what they want their day to be, and have been creating it in their mind since their daydreaming years of make-believe. It has to be as magical as the day they imagined it would be all those years ago. It’s my job to capture her perfect day, her dream moments, her prince charming… everything from her best friend to her pretty dress and cute shoes. Dreams are wispy and can be hard to catch.
